We absolutely love classics like Goodnight Moon and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, but there’s a whole canon of books out there that deserve a spot on your shelves too. After all, a child’s first library offers their first glimpses of life outside the family’s immediate sphere, and we think that view should reflect a reality that’s broad, inclusive, and complex. With that in mind, we bring you two programs that spotlight marginalized voices in children's literature and help families build home libraries that broaden young readers’ ideas of what’s possible, provide fresh perspectives, and open windows to new experiences: all the things that great children’s books should do.
