Perhaps more aptly named the "sometimes new/always noteworthy" book club, here is a place to discover recent gems and to revisit old favorites. Come join Kester and Jamie the last Monday of every month at 7PM. This month's book is Ready Player One by Ernie Cline.

Did you know that Austin has a reputation for being a bit weird? Well it does, and that's why we love living here so very much. In fact, we have a whole section of books devoted just to stories that walk on the weird side. So put on your favorite mismatched shoes and come to storytime today to read some books that aren't afraid to get weird, including 13 Words from the master of wacky, Lemony Snicket. This morning at 10:30 AM.

We're not really going to roll in the dirt today at storytime. Mainly because it would get on all the books. But wouldn't it be fun if we could? We think one of the greatest things about summer is kicking off our shoes and walking outside without worrying so much about getting dirty. And who better to celebrate the glories of griminess with than a certain mess-prone dog we all know and love? What’s better than talking about a book with a group of friends?  Talking about a book with a group of friends during Happy Hour at The Highball (1142 S. Lamar Blvd)!  Come hang out with Mandy and Joel the last Thursday of every month at 5:30PM where we’ll discuss books over cocktails.  This month’s book is A Thousand Lives by Julia Scheeres.

Giddy-up, cowboys and cowgirls! Storytime this morning is all about saddling up. So put on the biggest hat, sharpest spurs, stompiest boots, or longest lasso you can find and head on down to read Every Cowgirl Loves a Rodeo and other stories about riding the range. And don't forget to practice your Yee-haw on the way down. You're gonna need it! This morning at 11:30 AM.
