How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

In the ten years since his classic Kitchen Confidential, much has changed for the subculture of chefs and cooks, for the restaurant business—and for Anthony Bourdain. Medium Raw explores these changes, moving back and forth from the author's bad old days to the present. Bourdain

takes no prisoners as he dissects what he's seen in the last ten years, pausing along the way for a series of confessions, rants, investigations, and interrogations of some of the most controversial figures in food. Bourdain will be speaking at 7PM, followed by a book signing. Wristbands for the book signing line will go out at 9AM for anyone who has purchased Medium Raw from BookPeople.
