How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

Young Adult Events

Bestselling author CHRIS BARTON will speak about and sign his new Young Adult book, Can I See Your I. D.?: True Stories of False Identities.

Our dear friend Chris Barton has written a new book for young readers – this time it’s a collection of ten vignettes in graphic panel form telling the often exhilarating tales of the mind-blowing masquerades of some of the best pretenders in the history of the world.
We’ll be having a reception for the release of the book, which will include games, contests, refreshments and other mysterious things! This evening at 7:00PM.

Barton is the award-winning author of the picture books Shark Vs. Train and The Day-Glo Brothers.

In order to have anything signed at a BookPeople event, you must purchase a copy of the event book from BookPeople and show proof of purchase at the event.
