Tonight we're hosting a reading with two terrific authors. Dina Guidubaldi will present her debut collection, How Gone We Got, in which characters have gone wandering, searching for a way home. Melissa Falcon Field will present her debut novel What Burns Away, a story of loyalty, family, and the consequences of the past's inevitable collision with our future.


ABOUT DINA GUIDUBALDI

Dina Guidubaldi is a graduate of Texas State's MFA program. She lives in Austin, Texas. Her fiction has been published in several magazines including Other Voices, the Santa Monica Review, Ninth Letter, and Prairie Schooner. She was an editor and reader for American Short Fiction and Callaloo, as well as a columnist for the Austin-American Statesman.

ABOUT MELISSA FALCON FIELD

Melissa Falcon Field was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and earned her MFA in Fiction Writing from Texas State University. She has been a recipient of the Katherine Anne Porter Writer- in- Residence appointment and attended the Bread Loaf Writer’s Conference. For nearly a decade, she worked with Teach for America and AmeriCorps as an inner city schoolteacher. Her writing has appeared in various literary magazines and journals, including: Hip Momma, Kaliope Literary Journal, The Portland PhoenixThe Austin American Statesmen and The Maine Scholar.  She lives in Madison, Wisconsin with her young son, her husband, and four chickens, returning to the coast of Maine each summer.
