So many YA books... so little time. Epic Reads invites readers of all ages to join a round-table where you'll get to strike up conversation with authors (so many authors!) who will gab about their books and other fan favorites. A purchase of any of the authors' new books from BookPeople is required to participate (and you can bring books from home for authors to sign). Small author dish sesh + killer YA books = a book lover's dream, courtesy of Epic Reads.
Nothing ever happens to Charlotte and Frankie. Their lives are nothing like the lives of the girls they read about in their YA novels. They don’t have flowing red hair, and hot romantic encounters never happen—let alone meeting a true soul mate. They just go to high school and live at home with their parents, who are pretty normal, all things considered. But when Charlotte decides to write down everything that happens during their sophomore year, to prove that nothing happens and there is no plot or character development in real life, she’s surprised to find that being fifteen isn’t as boring as she thought. It’s weird, heartbreaking, silly, and complicated. And maybe, just perfect.
Brooke Danvers is pretending to be fine. After six weeks of in-patient therapy, she’s gotten so good at pretending that they’re sending her home. Now she just has to fake it long enough for her parents and teachers to let their guard down. This time, when she is ready to end her life, there won’t be anyone around to stop her.
Then Brooke meets Derek. Unlike her family, her therapist, or even her best friend, Derek really gets what Brooke is going through, because he’s going through it too. As they start spending more time together, Brooke suddenly finds herself having something to look forward to every day. More than that—she might even be happy.
But when Derek’s feelings for her intensify, Brooke is forced to accept that the same relationship that is bringing out the best in her might be bringing out the worst in Derek—and that Derek at his worst could be capable of real darkness.
ABOUT THE DAZZLING HEIGHTS
The second book in the NEW YORK TIMES bestselling series The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee.
The sumptuous second book in the Thousandth Floor series has all the drama, romance and hidden secrets that landed the first book in this series at #2 on the NEW YORK TIMES bestseller list.
ABOUT ONE DARK THRONE
Picking up where the New York Times bestselling fantasy novel Three Dark Crowns left off, One Dark Throne continues with higher stakes, jaw-dropping reveals, and an ending readers will never see coming.
With the queens’ sixteenth birthday celebration on the horizon and the unforgettable events of the Quickening behind them, the sisters must reassess their strategic paths to the throne in light of what has happened.
Katharine, once the weak and feeble queen, is curiously stronger than ever before. Arsinoe, after discovering she’s not a naturalist, must figure out how to use her potentially life-threatening secret before it winds up killing her. And even though Mirabella’s powers are as strong as ever, the incessant attacks on her and her people have left her questioning if being crowned is worth it if everyone in her wake dies.
But time is running out, and the triplets aren’t the only ones in Fennbirn scheming about what’s to come. Friends and foes alike who stand to benefit from the victory are trying to force the hands of the sisters, pushing them toward a shocking outcome that defies history, confounds nature, and forever changes everyone involved.
