How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

Join us as Hey Cupcake, The Best Wurst and East Side King food trucks roll into our parking lot to help us welcome foodie and journalist HEATHER SHOUSE as she speaks about and signs her new book, Food Trucks: Dispatches and Recipes from the Best Kitchens on Wheels. The trucks will be here and ready to take your order as of 5:30p and Heather will begin speaking at 7pm.

Heather Shouse launched a coast-to-coast exploration of street food. In Food Trucks, she gives readers a page-by-page compass for finding the best movable feasts in America. Organized geographically, Food Trucks doubles as a road trip must-have, a travel companion for discovering memorable meals on minimal budgets and a snapshot of a culinary craze just waiting to be devoured.

In order to have anything signed at a BookPeople event, you must purchase a copy of the event book from BookPeople and show proof of purchase at the event.
