ABOUT A WILDCATTER'S TREK

When a young oil field pipe salesman, Jordan Phillips, decides to drill for oil in East Texas and, by accident, discovers the largest oil field in the world, he unwittingly joins the brutal, never-ending race of the oil wildcatter. The breathtaking core of A Wildcatter's Trek is fully exposed when Jordan Phillips learns that to protect his great wealth, he can never stop drilling, following the latest advances in geoscience technology in the quest to discover the next major oil field, always fending off the greed and fraud lurking within the hearts of persons closest to him. He even has reason to fear for his life. Will his grit and tenacity be enough to survive the race?

ABOUT NECESSITIES

Donnie Ray Cuinn returns to Austin to defend a war hero accused of murder. David Lewis lost both legs in Iraq, but he has overcome his nightmares and his disabilities by sheer willpower. He has learned to run and to box and is a successful newspaperman with a beautiful wife and son. Now the nightmares have returned and he must stand trial for murder. With twists that never seem to end, this gripping legal thriller is filled with suspense and indelibly drawn characters dealing with love and betrayal.

ABOUT THE COURAGE TO BECOME

The Courage To Become beautifully and honestly shares a story that so many women live every day. We are always becoming--something new, something feared, something previously unknown. When I became a spouse, and then a mother, I went through the looking glass--seeing myself as I had been, not recognizing who I was to become, but mostly feeling lost and alone in the desert that bridged the two.

I know now that I was not alone in my struggle to become. Catia's story is remarkable in its candor and relatability. The humor, compassion and earnestness in her storytelling, combined with the readability of a friend's journal make The Courage to Become a gift I would give to any new mother, spouse, or friend looking for a companion on the journey.

ABOUT GENE AMES JR.

Gene Ames, Jr. is a petroleum geologist and Independent Oil and Gas Producer with sixty years’ experience in the oil business. Mr. Ames is a recipient of two of the most prestigious honors bestowed by the United States oil and gas industry, U.S. Tubular Steel Product’s ‘Chief Roughneck’ Award and the Texas Oil & Gas Association’s Distinguished Service Award. In the past he served as national Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Association of America (“IPAA”) and as Chairman of the Texas Oil & Gas Association.

ABOUT BOYD TAYLOR

Boyd Taylor (above) is the author of four novels in the Donnie Ray Cuinn Series—Hero, The Antelope Play, The Monkey House, and his most recent work, Necessities (trailer here), which will be available to readers in November. Boyd, a graduate of the University of Texas and the UT Law School, has written fiction all his life. He was enrolled in Dr. Gerald Langford’s creative writing course at the University of Texas, who advised him to go to law school. He honed his fiction-writing skills as an attorney and later as an executive for a large chemical company, writing countless long-range business plans that required imagining the future in the form of scenarios, most of which never came to pass. Company assignments took Boyd and his family to locations as diverse as the Texas Panhandle, Appalachia, New England and the Texas Gulf Coast. He was able to travel the world on business. He learned from direct observation that however different people and places may seem, people everywhere face similar paradoxes of love and loss, life and death, and self-sacrifice and betrayal. Boyd lives with his wife in Austin, Texas.  He has committed to her to write a novel a year and to keep to his study and his trusty Underwood typewriter, out of harm’s way. Unbeknownst to her, he is now using a MaxBookPro. Boyd welcomes inquiries and comments from his readers, who may contact him at Antelopecity@icloud.com or on his Facebook page.
