GREG LEITICH SMITH - Chronal Engine *Release Party*

 Young Adult Author
GREG LEITICH SMITH
will speak & sign his new novel,
Chronal Engine.

Join us this afternoon when we celebrate the release of the latest novel for teens by Austin author Greg Leitich Smith!

When Max, Emma, and Kyle are sent to live with their reclusive grandfather for the summer, they’re dismayed to learn he thinks there’s a time machine in the basement.

But when Grandpa Pierson predicts the exact time of his own heart attack, and when Emma is kidnapped by what can only be a time traveler, they realize he was telling the truth about the Chronal Engine.  And if they want their sister back, they’ll have to do it themselves.

So Max and Kyle, together with their new friend Petra, pack up their grandpa’s VW and follow Emma and the kidnapper back in time, to Late Cretaceous Texas, where the sauropods and tyrannosaurs roam.  Can the trio find Emma and survive the hazards of the Age of Dinosaurs, or are they, too, destined to become part of the fossil record?

Greg Leitich Smith, a native of Chicago, now lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, author Cynthia Leitich Smith, and four cats. In addition to Chronal Engine, Greg is also the author of Ninjas, Piranhas and Galileo and its companion book, Tofu and T. Rex. He and his wife, Cynthia Leitich Smith, are the co-authors of the picture book, Santa Knows, illustrated by Steve Bjorkman. Although he’s never built a time machine, Greg has degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Texas at Austin.  In addition, he has a degree in law from The University of Michigan Law School, Ann Arbor.

In order to have anything signed at a BookPeople event, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. If you purchase your book in advance of the event, please save your receipt and present it at the event.

Thank you for supporting Greg Leitich Smith, and your local independent bookstore!

How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.
