Speaking and Signing
CONSCIOUS CAPITALISM

The speaking portion of this event is free and open to the public. Wristbands are required for the signing portion of the event and are available with the purchase of a copy of Conscious Capitalism from BookPeople.

There’s a new business revolution brewing…don’t let your organization miss out.

Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Wegmans, Costco, The Container Store. You shop there not only for the products they sell, but for the business philosophy these market leaders are pioneering.

In Conscious Capitalism, iconic CEO John Mackey and professor Raj Sisodia show how such companies are creating a movement that’s transforming business. The authors present the fundamental principles and practices of their bold new vision of conscious capitalism: businesses operating from a sense of higher purpose and prospering financially while also generating other critical forms of value—emotional, social, intellectual, ecological, financial, and spiritual. These are businesses built on love and care instead of fear and stress.

Some of today’s best companies—Google, UPS, Southwest Airlines, Herman Miller, Bright Horizons, Patagonia, Panera, Starbucks, REI, Tata and others—are making this vision real. They’re not being politically correct. Rather, they understand that conscious capitalism is the ultimate path to long-term competitive advantage. They’re full-throated advocates for free markets, entrepreneurship, competition, and property rights. But they operate by a markedly different set of principles.

John Mackey is the co-founder and co-CEO of Whole Foods Market. He is a leading figure in the fast-growing Conscious Capitalism movement, and is on the Board of Trustees of Conscious Capitalism Inc.

In order to have anything signed at a BookPeople event, you must purchase a copy of the event book from BookPeople. If you purchase your copy from BookPeople in advance, please save your receipt and present it at the event.

Thank you for supporting John Mackey and your local independent bookstore!

How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.
