How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

It is only appropriate that The Sopranos appeared when it did, in the dying days of the twentieth century, a century that became a fruitful time for crime dramas due to advancements in art and technology, as well as a reality all too eager to supply the material—advancements in “organized crime.”

If You Like The Sopranos… provides an illuminating portrait of those elements that came together to create the stellar artistic achievement that is The Sopranos, and it follows the new trails the television show left when it exploded into the cultural consciousness, heralding the arrival of a new era of storytelling.

In order to have anything signed at a BookPeople event, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. If you purchase your book from BookPeople in advance of the event, please save your receipt and present it at the event.
