How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

LIDIA BASTIANICH - Lidia's Italy in America

  • Adult Event

BookPeople is pleased to present
bestselling cookbook author
& beloved Italian-American chef
LIDIA BASTIANICH
at Whole Foods Market
where she will sign her new cookbook,
Lidia's Italy in America.

This event will take place at Whole Foods Market, 525 N. Lamar (directly across the street from BookPeople) in the wine department. In order to have a book signed at this event, you must purchase the book from BookPeople. Tickets are required to join the signing line at Whole Foods and will be distributed with the purchase of a copy of Lidia's Italy in America from BookPeople. Tickets are now available in-store and over the phone (512-472-5050.)

In LIDIA’S ITALY IN AMERICA, a companion book to her upcoming public television series of the same name, Lidia takes us on a road trip into the heart of Italian American cooking today, as only Lidia can. She started with a question: How did Italian immigrants put beloved recipes from their homeland on the table for their families in the new world that was America? This one question began Lidia’s coast-to-coast journey towards uncovering how and why Italian American food has become what it is today. Thousands of miles and many meals later, LIDIA’S ITALY IN AMERICA showcases industrious Italian-American cooks from all over the country—farmers, housewives, butchers, fishermen, and food entrepreneurs—and gives recognition to those who have honored the traditions of their homeland in a delicious new style.

LIDIA MATTICCHIO BASTIANICH is the author of seven previous books, five of which have been accompanied by nationally syndicated public television series. She is the owner of restaurants Felidia, Becco, Del Posto, Esca, and Eataly in NYC, as well as Lidia’s in Kansas City and Pittsburgh. Lidia has been the beloved host of PBS' Lidia's Italy cooking show. In addition, the LIDIA’S line of all-natural sauces and pastas is sold nationwide, and Lidia has an exclusive line of ceramic and tableware for QVC. Lidia lives on Long Island.

In order to have anything signed at a BookPeople event, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. If you purchase your book from BookPeople in advance, please save your receipt and present it at the event.

Thank you for supporting Lidia Bastianich, and your local independent bookstore!
