How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

Join us this evening as three local authors talk about their latest books. Walter “Yukon” Yates will be telling tales of survival and adventure from his memoir Breakaway. In Beverly Charles’ memoir How I Discovered my Mother Was a Goddess, she takes us through the pain of watching a mother suffer from dementia, and the goddesses at work at different stages in our lives. Laurel Donnellan will introduce you to her program of finding what you are Born To Do and show you how to make profound changes in your life. All three authors will speak about and sign their books, showcasing great Austin writing talent!
