How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

Austin is lucky to have a bevy of talented local authors. Tonight we are excited to host three of them. Pat Brown will be here with her novel Sometimes, Rick Goeld will be here with his novel Sex, Lies, and Soybeans, and Roberta Grimes will be here with her new book The Fun of Dying. The authors will read from and discuss their books, as well as sign copies.
