How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

MysteryPeople Presents: JOHN CONNOLLY - 'The Infernals'

  • Adult Event
11/06/2011 4:00 pm

MysteryPeople Presents:
The bestselling author
of the Charlie Parker series
JOHN CONNOLLY
speaking & signing his new YA novel,
The Infernals.

While at BookPeople, Connolly will also discuss and sign his latest Charlie Parker novel,
The Burning Soul.

Young Samuel Johnson and his faithful dachshund Boswell, having battled the forces of darkness in The Gates, fight evil again – with a little help from their friends – in The Infernals, the rollicking sequel by John Connolly. This time Samuel finds himself crossing paths with some very bad-tempered dwarfs, an ice cream man, and two indignant policemen, all of whom find themselves in Hell when the portal opens again. The Infernals mixes adventure, horror and humor with true science that’s stranger than fiction, conveyed in language that will entertain and engage kids aged 12 and up.

John Connolly is the Dublin-born author of the Charlie Parker mystery series for adults, among other works. His novel The Book of Lost Things, described as “a fairy tale for adults,” won a 2005 Alex Award from the ALA’s Young Adult Library Services Association as an adult book with special appeal to teens.
