|Tonight, join us for another great MysteryPeople event featuring two authors. Terry Shames is a store favorite and author of the Samuel Craddock series. Her latest book places Jarrett Creek in the midst of scandal, bankruptcy and in need of ex-chief of police, Samuel Craddock. Meanwhile, debut author, Rob Brunet, brings us Stinking Rich, the tale of a high school dropout placed in charge of a barn full of high-grade marijuana. Come by our 2nd floor at 7PM for this great event!|
|Terry Shames is the author of the Samuel Craddock mysteries A Killing at Cotton Hill and The Last Death of Jack Harbin. She is the coeditor of Fire in the Hills,
a book of stories, poems, and photographs about the 1991 Oakland Hills
Fire. She grew up in Texas and continues to be fascinated by the
convoluted loyalties and betrayals of the small town where her
grandfather was the mayor. Terry is a member of the Mystery Writers of
America and Sisters in Crime.|
Rob Brunet’s short crime fiction appears and is forthcoming in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, Thuglit, Shotgun Honey, Out of the Gutter, Noir Nation, and numerous anthologies. Before writing noir, Brunet produced award-winning Web presence for film and TV, including LOST, Frank Miller’s Sin City, and the cult series Alias. He loves the bush, beaches, and bonfires and lives in Toronto with his wife, daughter, and son.
About Dead Broke in Jarret Creek:
About Stinking Rich:
What could possibly go wrong when the backwoods Libidos Motorcycle Club hires a high school dropout to tend a barn full of high-grade marijuana? Plenty, it turns out. In a world where indoor plumbing's optional and each local wacko is more twisted than the last, drug money draws reprobates like moths to a lantern. From loveable losers to gnarly thugs and law-and-order wannabes, every last one of them has an angle-their best shot at being stinking rich. And with their own warped ideas about right, wrong, and retribution, the Libidos aren't far behind.
