ABOUT BAKE AUSTIN KIDS
Bake Austin Kids is a collection of some of my students’ favorite recipes from many years of teaching children the art of baking. Whether your child loves to bake, or needs inspiration to do so, Bake Austin Kids is the perfect guide. With easy-to-follow instructions, clear how-to’s and pages full of fun, creative and clever ways to take baking to the next level, Bake Austin Kids will surely become your child’s go-to recipe book. All baked goods featurd in these pages, were created exclusively by students in my Bake Austin classes.
ABOUT PASCAL SIMON
Hi my name is Pascal Simon, owner of Bake Austin. I have been baking since I was a little girl in Germany. I infuse my baking with my inexhaustible creativity. I teach children how to bake and decorate cakes and cupcakes, as well as create amazing candies, cookies and so much more. Of course I also bake and decorate anything from cakes, cupcakes to cookies and I love everything "out of the box" (but never a cake out of the box). There is no challenge hard enough and the more "strange" it is, the more excited I get.
My mission with Bake Austin is to bring community together through baking. I know it sound ambitious, but isn't baking such a beautiful past time?! In Germany we have something called a "Kaffeeklatsch", this is where friends and family get together, eat cake, drink coffee and just talk. In my school it's not much different, we get together and we bake cake while we talk. So many friendships have started here at Bake Austin!
I have earned my degree as a Pastry Chef at the prestigious Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.
Baking has been my passion since I was a little girl and I learned how to bake from my mother, my grandmother and my aunt who is a German cake decorator. I am comfortable with children from any schooling background. Homeschooling, un-schooling or public schooling kids are all welcome.
I am a German Native and have traveled the world. I am also a mosaic artist and mother of two.
