 MONDAY ~ OCTOBER 10, 2011 ~ 3pm

returns to BookPeople
with the second book in his latest series,
The Heroes of Olympus, Book Two:
The Son of Neptune.

It is our great pleasure to announce that RICK RIORDAN will appear at BookPeople to sign the second book in his latest series, The Heroes of Olympus: The Son of Neptune!

Due to the high volume of people who will attend this event, we ask that you please cooperate with the following EVENT GUIDELINES:

*The party in the parking lot is free and open to the public, however if you'd like to have a book signed while you're here, tickets are required. Tickets for the signing line are only available with the purchase of a copy of The Son of Neptune from BookPeople. Tickets will be available on Tuesday, October 4th at 9:00am, the day The Son of Neptune goes on sale nationwide. Tickets will be available in-store as of 9:00am and over the phone as of 10am.  Tickets will not be available online and are first come, first serve.

*Each person with a ticket for the signing line may have a total of 2 Rick Riordan books signed at this event. A copy of Son of Neptune must be purchased from BookPeople in order to receive a signing ticket, however if you would prefer to have two other Riordan books signed instead of Son of Neptune, that's fine, but you do still have to purchase a copy of Son of Neptune from BookPeople in order to get in line.

*Books will not be personalized.

*Posed photos will not be permitted at the signing table. Candid photos taken in passing are fine, however you will not be able to pose with Rick Riordan, or ask him to pose for your photo.

*Pre-orders for signed copies will not be accepted in advance of the event on October 10th. If you would like a signed copy but cannot make it to the event, please call us the day after the event and we'll help you then. If you expect to attend the event and would like to have a book put on hold for you, you may do so, however you still must call or come into the store before the event to pay for the book and receive the ticket.

A note from Rick Riordan about signing guidelines.

Here's what's in store in The Son of Neptune

In The Lost Hero, three demigods named Jason, Piper, and Leo made their first visit to Camp Half-Blood, where they inherited a blood-chilling quest:

Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.

Who are the other four mentioned in the prophesy? The answer may lie in another camp thousands of miles away, where a new camper has shown up and appears to be the son of Neptune, god of the sea.

With an ever-expanding cast of brave-hearted heroes and formidable foes, this second book in The Heroes of Olympus series offers all of the action, pathos, and humor that Rick Riordan fans crave.

Rick Riordan, Children’s Choice Book Award Author of the Year, is the author of the award-winning New York Times #1 best-selling Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. The Lightning Thief, the first book in that series, was developed into a feature film. In 2010 he launched two all-new series that both debuted at #1 on multiple best-seller lists: The Kane Chronicles and The Heroes of Olympus. His previous novels for adults include the hugely popular Tres Navarre series, winner of the top three awards in the mystery genre. He lives in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife and two sons.
