How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

The meeting this morning will feature the wonderful author Brian Yansky and he’ll be sharing with us his New Year’s Resolution: getting organized. While getting one’s life organized might seem daunting, organizing one’s manuscripts is a completely reasonable goal. He’ll be sharing strategies to getting your fictional world organized and obtaining the ever elusive structure to your novel.

Following Brian’s presentation, there will be a reception on our 3rd floor for the folks who have recently attended the Story Masters Workshop. Tim Crow, Lynne Hoenig, and Bonnie Crow have promised to share the riches they gleaned from the workshop in a casual, conversational setting…almost be as good as the real deal!
