How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

Theology on Tap is a series of discussions among members of Austin's wide and varied spiritual community about various theological topics. Our March Theology on Tap event features hosts Beka Falk and Greg Garrett in conversation with Chris Seay about his new book A Place at the Table: 40 Days of Solidarity with the Poor. Join us for beer from Saint Arnold Brewing Company and this talk about fasting and feasting as Lenten disciplines. Beka is Associate Pastor at University Baptist Church, Austin; Greg is the Austin-based author of over a dozen books, including The Other Jesus and Faithful Citizenship.
