How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

This adorable new book tells the story of a domesticated dachshund with a fire in his belly to leave the comforts of suburban living and join a wolf pack -- to run wild & become a true WIENER WOLF!

Join us for a truly wonderful release party when author and illustrator Jeff Crosby reads and signs copies of his hilarious and heartwarming picture book WIENER WOLF.

The Central Texas Dachshund Rescue will be here handing out information on how you can adopt a darling dachshund yourself - and will be bringing one of those darling dachshunds for us to meet! The fun doesn't end there, though! We'll have delicious hot dogs from Frank, a local restaurant specializing in all things hot dog. PLUS, crafts and even cupcakes!

And if all of that isn't exciting enough, we also have a Costumed Dog Photo Contest for you to enter! We want to see your pooches in their cutest, silliest, cleverest costumes. To enter our contest, please submit a picture of your dog in costume to kids_blog at bookpeople dot com by 11:59 PM Friday, June 24. BookPeople will choose our favorite three pictures, and then we will let the readers of this blog determine the winner on June 29. And like I mentioned above, the winner of our contest will receive an original drawing from Weiner Wolf author, Jeff Crosby.

Don't miss the big event -- Saturday, July 2nd @ 11:30AM. And while we love your dogs, please be advised that due to Health Codes, we cannot allow any dogs other than those already approved into the store.
