  • This event takes place at the Austin Public Library's Special Events Center, located at 710 W Cesar Chavez St., Austin, TX 78701.
  • The purchase of a ticket + book combo includes a copy of The Dutch House and grants priority access into the venue and signing line afterwards. It is $27.99 plus taxes and fees.
  • A limited number of free tickets will be available. This ticket option does not include a copy of The Dutch House . Free RSVPS will need to purchase a copy of the book from BookPeople in order to join the signing line.
  • Books are not available for pick-up at BookPeople prior to the event.
  • Books will come pre-signed, but Ann Patchett will personalize copies of The Dutch House after the event.
  • Doors open at 6PM. Seating is general admission; first come, first served.
  • Refunds are only available up to 7 days before the event.

 

Please note: If you purchase a ticket and cannot attend the event, we will hold a copy of The Dutch House for you at BookPeople for 30 days after the date of the event.


ABOUT THIS EVENT

Presented in partnership with The Library Foundation and Austin Public Library, BookPeople welcomes back to Austin PEN/Faulkner Award and Orange Prize-winning author Ann Patchett.

Patchett will be joining us for the launch of her eighth novel, The Dutch House, a dark fairy tale about two smart people who struggle to overcome their past. She will read from and discuss the novel, take audience questions, and sign books, which are available for purchase before and during the event. Get your tickets here!


ABOUT ANN PATCHETT

Ann Patchett is the author of seven novels, The Patron Saint of Liars, Taft, The Magician’s Assistant, Bel Canto, Run, State of Wonder, and Commonwealth. She was the editor of Best American Short Stories, 2006, and has written three books of nonfiction, Truth & Beauty, What now?, and, most recently, This is the Story of a Happy Marriage. She has won numerous prizes, including the PEN/ Faulkner Award and the Orange Prize for Fiction, and her work has been translated into more than thirty languages. Patchett is the co-owner of Parnassus Books in Nashville, Tennessee, where she lives with her husband, Karl VanDevender, and their dog, Sparky.
