Year of the Goose

Start the week off with debut fiction! Author Carly Hallman will be joined this evening by Austin author Jill Alexander Essbaum (Hausfrau) and Michael Barrett, editor of Austin Review, to discuss Hallman’s hilarious, absurdist new novel, Year of the Goose. From a middle school mogul to a talking turtle, a grotesque "fat camp" for children to a mythical settlement of ex-millionaires, Carly J. Hallman's vision of a fragmented Chinese society is brimming with bawdy humor and sharp wit. Join us!

Carly J. Hallman has a degree in English writing and rhetoric from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX. She lives in Beijing.
