MYSTERYPEOPLE Presents: NOIR AT THE BAR @ Opal Divine's
Monday, May 12 at 7PM
NOIR AT THE BAR
& JIM WILSKY
The only thing most crime fiction fans love as much as books is drinking, so it only makes sense that someone would combine both. Started in Philadelphia a few years, Noir At The Bar has made its way across the country from Philadelphia to LA. MysteryPeople is giving it an Austin spin on May 12th at Opal Divine's on South Congress.
We'll have a great line up of hard-boiled authors on the scene reading from and discussing their works, featuring Ace Atkins.
So come out to Opal's (3601 South Congress) at 7PM and help us celebrate a new tradition - Austin's Noir at the Bar.
ACE ATKINS is the Edgar-nominated author of fifteen books, including the forthcoming Quinn Colson novel The Forsaken. Selected by the Robert B. Parker estate to continue the Spenser novels, he has also written Robert. B. Parker’s Lullaby and Robert B. Parker’s Wonderland, both of which were New York Times bestsellers. He lives in Oxford, Mississippi.
GEORGE WIER writes books that serve as throwbacks to early action novels for today’s audience. His Bill Travis series (now in print versions, available at MysteryPeople) earned a large online following. Even when he’s writing with another author, Wier’s voice still carries through; striving to entertain the reader as much as he can.
JIM WILSKY recently co-authored his first novel, Blood on Blood, with Frank Zafiro. In a short time, Wilsky has established hismelf as the premier publisher of independent crime fiction. Two more books have been published in the series. His short stories have been published on sites like Rose & Thorn, Shotgun Honey and Beat To A Pulp.
