Booze! Bars! Books! Noir at the Bar has moved to Threadgill's off Riverside and we've got an exciting line-up to celebrate our new location! The prolific and colorful Les Edgerton joins us with The Genuine, Imitation Plastic Kidnapping. Jordan Harper, whose poetic collection Love, and Other Wounds wowed us last year, and Con Lehane, whose latest, Murder at the 42nd Street Library, explores what happens when a crime fiction enthusiast takes on a real murder, will also join us at the event. Jesse Sublett will read from his latest, 1960s Austin Gangsters, and play a few of his signature murder ballads.Come for the crime fiction, stay for a drink or two and kick back with another rowdy night of noir, Austin style. 


ABOUT THE AUTHORS


LES EDGERTON

Les Edgerton (MFA, Vermont College) is a novelist and author of Finding Your Voice. His short fiction has appeared in Best American Mystery Stories 2001, Kansas Quarterly, Arkansas Review, North Atlantic Review, Chiron Review, and many others. His honors include a Pushcart Prize nomination, Edgar Allan Poe Award nomination, and an Indiana Arts Commission Fellowship.


JORDAN HARPER

Jordan Harper was born and educated in Missouri. He has been a music journalist, film critic, and TV writer. He is currently a writer-producer for Gotham. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Elizabeth.


CON LEHANE

Con Lehane is a mystery writer who lives outside Washington, DC. He's published three previous crime novels featuring New York City bartender Brian McNulty. Over the years, he has worked as a college professor, a union organizer, a labor journalist, and has tended bar at two dozen or so drinking establishments.


JESSE SUBLETT

Jesse Sublett is an author, musician and artist from Austin, Texas. His publications include Rock Critic MurdersNever the Same AgainBroke, Not Broken and has contributed to Texas MonthlyTexas ObserverNew York TimesTexas Tribune and the Austin Chronicle. A member of the Texas Institute of Letters, his seminal Austin rock band, the Skunks was inducted in the Austin Music Hall of Fame in 2008. Jesse lives in Austin with his wife, Lois Richwine.
