In this refreshingly honest and helpful book, Dana De Greff uses her own varied experiences as a writer, editor, coach, and writing instructor to share insight and techniques for aspiring writers, creatives, and story lovers. Words and Wonder reveals some of the basic tools everyone must have to foster a more creative life and answers the top questions from writers of all ages and abilities, such as: how to find the time to write; how to find inspiration; how to get published, and more. Conversational and friendly, Words and Wonder also provides hacks for tapping into the flow state and inspirational “De Greff Doors,” or journaling prompts. Through it all, De Greff reminds us: “No matter how or when or why you write, the words can only come from you, and only you can get them out of your head and onto the page.”

DANA DE GREFF is the author of Alterations, winner of the Rane Arroyo Chapbook Series. She has taught Creative Writing at the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Miami, Books & Books, The Loft Literary Center, Austin Bat Cave, Writing Workshops, and Writers.com. She’s the recipient of a 2021 Pushcart Prize Nomination and was selected as a finalist for the 2021 Key West Literary Seminar's Marianne Russo Award for her novel-in-progress, Everyday Mysticism. Her work has appeared in Islandia Journal, Cosmonauts Avenue, PANK, Origins Journal, and Gulf Stream Magazine, among others. As the CEO and Founder of De Greff Writers, Dana also works with emerging and established writers, helping them bring their books to life through creative tools, publishing insight, and mentorship.

By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople.
