BookPeople has been part of Austin for over 50 years. For much of that time, we have worked closely with schools and libraries to support their needs and goals. We regularly go into over 80 schools a year across 5 districts to talk up books, feature authors, and promote a love of reading. We appreciate that you consistently call BookPeople for your field trips, event books, bookfairs, and other services. We love working with you.
While our current offerings have been adjusted for the 2022-2023 school year due to a relocation of our schools warehouse, we are still offering a robust selection of programs for schools to participate in for the fall of 2022.
Educator Discounts, School Accounts, & Bulk Orders
BookPeople extends discounted pricing to schools and libraries for bulk orders and school accounts. For more information, pricing, availability, and school accounts, please contact Meghan Goel at email@example.com.
At this time, we also offer a daily 20% discount to teachers & librarians making any purchases of classroom or library materials in-store. Discount is applied at time of check out and a current school ID is required. Discount cannot be stacked with other discounts.
Personal Shopping / Collection Development

Every school year, BookPeople is able to bring many authors and illustrators into area schools for exciting and dynamic author visits. We are pleased to work with schools, publishers, and authors to set up these great visits. Some of the amazing authors we’ve been able to take into schools in recent years include Jerry Pinkney, Dav Pilkey, Mac Barnett, Sharon Draper, Peter Sis, Cynthia Kadohata, Jon Scieszka, Kwame Alexander, and more.

Do you need books for an author that's visiting your school virtually? We are happy to help! For visits that are not set up through BookPeople, we do ask that you commit to a 20-book minimum. If you have any questions, please contact Meghan Goel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bookfairs are a great way to promote reading, encourage parent involvement, and raise money for your school. We serve schools in districts in and around Austin. Schools in AISD, Eanes ISD, Pflugerville ISD, and Dripping Springs ISD have hosted bookfairs with us. We also do bookfairs for private and parochial schools.
We work one-on-one with organizers to create an event that’s unique to each school. We serve all grades, all reading levels, and all ages. Our in-school bookfair fundraisers provide a 20% donation of all purchases to your school, classroom booktalking to build enthusiasm, personalized booklists, special author events and more.
Due to the relocation of our bookfair warehouse, in-person bookfairs on school premises are on hiatus for Fall 2022 and will resume spring 2023. During this time, we are happy to offer your organization fundraising opportunities in the bookstore and on our website. In-store bookfair fundraisers offer you the chance to let your community shop our full selection while raising money for the school. We also offer options for bringing your communities together for instore family events, as our public event schedule allows. We can discuss other options to help make the in-store bookfair feel like a special event for your schooll, including dedicated displays for recommended reading lists and donation drives for teachers’ classrooms. Create a Classroom or Library Wish List!

We love to host field trips at the store, whether as rewards for students who have completed reading challenges or any other reason.
Our standard field trip package cost is $4.50 per student*, with a minimum of 10 students. As part of this package, you receive:
- A 20 minute book presentation to get kids excited about some of our favorite new books.
- A BookKids section tour.
- $5 coupons for each student to shop with (or take home).
- Shopping time (if you wish) with a BookKids bookseller to help kids find great new books
*Schools may also supplement this package to give students more money to shop with.
Conferences & Events
